First thing...Don't be in a rush to buy. Of course you can buy new but there are a lot of used Mustangs out there too. I searched for over 10 months looking around my city as well as on-line in the U.S. Most were out of either Texas or Florida with some from NY State. All good prices.

I live in Canada and it's a long way to Texas :-) but it would have been a great trip. I also found one very sweet ride in Forlida and very nearly bought it but it sold before I could bid.

Finally, I found one on-line via E-bay in my home town. I went and saw it and then bought it two days later.

I guess the moral of my story here is another great Mustang will come along if you miss out on the one you were looking at.

Ask a lot of questions like you are doing. Call them to talk directly and get their direct line or e-mail address. That may get them to see that you are a serious buyer.

Good Luck!

Yeah Carmax can give you good deals on BUYING but selling is a no go. When I was interested in trading mine for a manual, Carmax offered me 13.5K. LOL!!! My car was worth according to KBB 19K to 21K. I owed 19K at the time. I would have accepted 19K, but no way was I going to take 13.5K.

I just kept it and soon I'll have a ratchet shifter to satisfy my accational desire to shift.

My next car (which will be my second "weekend" car) WILL have a manual for sure.

+1354 on the inspection company.7 months ago I purchased a 07 v6 stang in san antonio (I live in houston) and I was going to take it to get inspected before I signed the papers. I ended up getting too exicted and not bringing it, BIG MISTAKE. The car had been wrecked and the entire left side of the car was made of bondo. I had to almost go to court to get my money back, so i highly advice getting it inspected.
