Default Q's about rusty brakes and taillights

Hey guys, just got the new wheels on and I can see that my brakes are pretty rusty... I assume this is normal seeing its been my DD since 2005. What can I do to get rid of the rust? Is it worth the time and effort if I am just going to be driving it for the summer? (I plane on planting my calipers red when it starts to get warmer out)

Also, I know alot of people have had trouble with their taillight bulbs constantly going out (I know I have!) and just before I put the stang in storage for the winter, all the lights on the left harness went out at the same time. The right taillights are fine but the left are all out. Is this normal? I have not got around the check it out yet but do you guys think its the harness and not the bulbs? (I have the sequential taillights btw)

Light bulbs blow. I have never had it happen on either the 05 or the 07 and I have the same kit that was on both cars. Moved the sequentials from the 05 to the 07. Buy new bulbs, spend 15 mins replacing them. Walk away.

As for the rotor rust, probably a product of the environment When you paint your calipers, just use a wire brush or steel wool on the affected areas to remove the rust. It will likely come back since it isn't coated with anything. But it will at least look better for a while.

Or you could clean the rotor and paint those sections black with the G2 paint...

A lot of rainwater runs off the trunk lid down behind the tail lights. Maybe some water got in and ruined the harness? I know it's pretty secure back there, but you never know. Something I really forgot to consider myself now that I'm thinking back on it.

I have heard of isolated incidents where sequentials cause tail light bulbs to fail after an absurdly short period of time.

+1 wire brush/steel wool for the brakes.
