I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't read it.

Maybe that should be a question when someone new registers on the forum... To weed out the gene pool a little...

Come on, Nuke. You already know the answer. The 5W20 is very unlikely to do any harm when used as you describe. But you're going to be thinking about it until you do the change to 5W30. So change it as soon as convenient. Just don't be too neat about it. Get yourself a little dirty, so you have an additional opportunity to shower with the g/f.

I have already bought some 5W30 Motorcraft blend at Wally World this afternoon. Yeah, I know it's ok but there's nothing wrong with being **** about our Stangs to SOME degree.

And no offense, Art161, but I NEVER need an excuse to shower with the g/f. She tends to get a little "dirty" herself...

I run 0w20 in my 2000 v6 year round (it calls for 5w30)
no problems at all it even gets better mpg with the 20 than it did with the 30

( but that is because we bought a 30 gal drum for my dads shop)

I have been Royal Purple 5w30 in my 2007 Mustang GT for the past 5k with no issues at all.

I personally have no problem with the 5W20 being in it and with all the input, I convinced the g/f that it'll be fine. She headed out this morning for the 400 mile trip home with 6 quarts of Motorcraft 5W30 blend and a Motorcraft filter in the trunk. I told her I'll change it for her after about 2,000 or 3,000 miles. She appreciates everyones feedback.
