07musclemustang I know it sucks when somebody damages your car and doesn't man up to it! I don't think it needs a skin, pdr might be able to take care of it but if it's not assessable from behind for pdr then a couple of stud's a little polyester and paint it will good as new,at least it's black easy to match. don't lose your job over this.

Maybe you could approach him first and say that "somebody" told you they saw someone in a white pickup ding your car. Tell him that "someone" doesn't want to get involved, then ask him if it might have been him, and if he denies it, don't worry about it. Then bring in the cops, let them do their thing, and tell the pickup guy that they took a paint sample from the ding. Once he believes there is a witness and a lab test, he'll probably come clean, if only to avoid a confrontation with the cops. If it doesn't work, at least you'll be sure he's sweating it for a couple of days.

That really sucks, I feel for you! I'm a police officer and I can tell you there won’t be any kind of investigation! The only thing you will get from the police department is damage to property report that you can take to your insurance company. This still leaves you paying the deductible to get it fixed. But if you really think it’s the guy in the white truck that dinged your door, what you do is tell him you were notified by another employee at your company who saw him open his door into your car! Tell him you were giving him time to come clean and notified you. Pause and wait for his response! If he thinks you have a witness and if he truly did do it, he will admit to it! Make sure you record the conversation, so once he finds out you really don’t have a witness he won’t try and change his story. Depending on what state your in you might not be able to use it in small claims court, but if he lies while under oath it could be used as evidence that he perjured him self on the stand. Good luck!

ok so heres the deal
i won 32 bucks towards the fix my door fund.
i spoke to the union rep and he said i should confront him only after i have some kind of proof. well ill see his truck tomorrow morning and i will see if there is any paint transfer. also ill be loking for hieght/ angle of impact and try to match it up. as for having a "witness" i dont know, but ill give him a chance and then play the paint match card and then go from there. I kinda blew the "witness" card as when i found it friday night... I made a scene... the rest of the guys other then rob all saw my scene and where kinda upset too... All love cars..
well thanks for the input all.
body man, how much would you say it would cost to fix the dent properly, so i can get an idea of what im looking at for dollars. I know pdr could get it 90 percent there, but im concerned about premature rusting from the panel from weakend steel. also the 90 percent part isnt up my alley I am kinda a perfectionist...
thanks again all

ok guys update
So as far as i can tell, rob didnt do it. no paint transfer to the door and after a one on one with him he seems truithfull, also immediatley after our chat he went to go check out my car and his truck. (i had a spy) he reallt seemed supprised.
so ok no leads and no culpret. the problem is that my work is a fleet maintanence/ truck rental shop. our parking lot sees about well alot of traffic. no cameras. ha the best part is all of our trucks, vans- big rigs are all white aside from some fleet trucks but still. lots of possibilites, over 450 to be exact.
so ok i guess im eating this one in the pocket book, So im thinking the bond idea seems to be the best way to go. The only thing that makes me kinda grimace is what if they finish it wrong. and the body line is off?
any ways body man, about how much should that cost?? an idea so i dont get taken for a ride??
anyways the fix mikes door fund is accepting donations.

yeah well our parking lot that we park in is only for about 30 cars. but the problem is that it could have been any of the rental, lease, fleet vehichles.
also to make the 450 number less you can rule out all the big rigs as that accounts for over 300 of them so your left with about 125 possiblities.... 15 mechanics, maybe minus the guilty party means we could get through all them ten each.. then cross reference the responsible party, ok yeah a long shot
but i had to try the most possible solution.
anywyas thanks again for all the moral support and advice
