Auto to Stick?

Its a bit of a way for me to go just to spectate >.< lol. I looked for the form online but can't find it... so lame... if I could get it and have him sign it before I left I would be set... seems like a TON of fun...

In the meantime, it is possible to manually downshift an automatic without getting that lurch forward (by kicking the throttle the right amount with the right timing as you move the shift lever, to get the revs to match more closely). Better than just leaving it in "D", not as good as pure manual. I learned that trick on a company vehicle a few years ago.

I really wish Ford offered a manumatic, without paddleshifters, as I actually prefer the old school method of hitting the shifter to do a shift.
I had lots of fun with the one in my previous Mazda, even though there was a bit of a gap between when I'd slap the shifter and when the shift would take place. I'd think by now these things should be refined to lessen the lag.
It seems like there's a market for a dual-shifter, and with so many people stuck in traffic I'm sure our left legs could use a break!
And speaking of which, I heard the 2010 GT500 should have a lighter clutch pedal... and has anyone seen the tax break we can get for buying a vehicle in 2009????? You can deduct state and local sales taxes on cars costing less than $49,500. Which might be in the ballpark for a GT500...
