Go with either the 4.10's or the MGW shifter, either mod will put a smile on your face when ever you get in your car, it will make you forget about what happened a little quicker.

Good choice. I did 4.10s in mine and I LOVE them. Make sure you get the ford racing brand. Motives wine...

Are you doing the gear install yourself? Also I would change the bearing out so everything is nice and tight when its all put together...

When I did my gears I changed the one bearing on the pinion gear because I dont want to have to be careful pulling the old one off and I figured I would replace it anyway. I love the gears though, gas mileage went down a little to like 24 mpg at 75 mph and the RPMs get to about 2600 at 75 if I remember right but around town they are awesome

this might be a stupid qeustion, but do 4.10 gears work on both Gt's and V6's, cause when i look at gears they never specify, so i just assumed u can use them on both

I'm sure they make a V6 specific gear, but the GT is an 8.8 rear end and the V6 is not.

I dont not mean to hijack but i'm looking at getting the 4.10/3.73s as well but I do not have a tuner yet.....can you put a set of gears on without a tune? I plan on getting an intake and tune eventually but want gears first.....

Yes, you can do it. I got gears after a CAI+tuner combo, but my xcal3 died before I could recalibrate the speedo. You can do gears, but your speedo won't read correctly.

i had a 2000 gt and the best upgrades ever was my steeda shifter and my 4.10 gears with my 315 Nitto that was on my 10 inch wide tires. that alone almost took a complete 1 sec off my quarter mile. stock i was running 14.4 and with that set up alone i quickly got myself in the 13.4. with a 1.60 60ft time. i was the happiest black kid on the block
