Paint match question

Paint match question
I recently purchased a GT500 spoiler off ebay. When I received it and set it on my car the color (screaming yellow) did not match. The spoiler has more of a orange/red tint to it. I compared it to both the top of the trunk lid and the inside of the trunk lid thinking the car may have faded a little, but it didn't match either.
I've read posts regarding cheap or poorly done clear coat. Can a poor/cheap clear do this, especially on a color like yellow? Can you get away with cheap clear on a darker color like black?
Thanks.

Cheap clear coat is cheap clear coat. You can never "get away with" a bad clear coat job on any color. It will always come back to haunt you.
Best thing to do is to take it a reputable paint/body shop and have them take a look. They may just test blast an area to see if it really is a clearcoat issue or if the wrong base was used when mixing the paint.

When I had some painted parts added to my Performance White 06 they removed the fuel filler cover and matched the color to that. I would probably take it to a good paint and body shop and have it done right. It will be quicker and you will know that it is right.
