Default Stripes

I have put 2 sets on my black 2006 GT. I got mine from Baltimorestreetmods.com, i tried silver first and then removed those after about a year and went with grey. As the other poster reccomends make sure the surface is clean of wax or dirt, i also used masking tape and spent a bit of time prepping and measuring to ensure i had the center mark on the hood, trunk and roof. In my case i got the ones with the pre-cut holes for the washer and that dictated where to start, i just had to make sure that at the front of the hood it was the same spacing so it would not look crooked. It is really not hard to do, take your time clean the surface and measure. Good Luck

One of the hardest parts for me was finding the center of the car or, better yet, finding a point of reference for the roof that would tell me I had lined them up straight. I ended up using the center mirror mount.

Putting stripes on yourself is one of the most tedious tasks I've ever undertaken. People with experience or those who didn't care as much wouldn't have spent the twenty-six (26) hours total it took me to put my stripes on. I'm very much a perfectionist...

It's COMPLETELY doable for an individual who's very motivated and patient. Laying vinyl is not for everyone. Absolutely do not have a time-critical window for the install...you have to budget for the "anything and everything going wrong" factor. Me...I almost broke my front grille trying to get it off and back on again...oh and I forgot to plug my fog lights back in after I reinstalled the grille.

I had thousands of tiny bubbles on the back of the trunk...took me a couple hours with an x-acto knife to ***** the ones big enough to be seen without a microscope.

Working the rear bumper was incredibly challenging, and oddly enough, I flew through the front bumper which usually gives everyone trouble.

If I was presented with the opportunity again, I would definitely put the stripes on myself. My family actually went out of town, so I didn't have anyone to distract me...also didn't have much in the way of help aside from my uncle's heroic efforts in helping me get started (again with the finding dead-center on the car and points of reference)

Have beer on hand...lots of it. Have music...lots of it.

Here are the resources I used as inspiration/confidence-building/instruction:

Don't forget the beer...it makes you a bit more jolly as you work painstakingly slowly.
