Well FWIW I may not be getting this anyway. I heard back from the seller and he'll know tonight whether the car is still available. Looks like someone got ahead of me in line.

i say jump on it man thats a good price.99% of mustang owners dream at some point is to own a gt500 why not get yours, heck ill be driving one if it was in my budget.the only thing i would do is go by carmax and have them give me a quote on the 06 for cash.incase you cant sell it to a private party withing the time that you need.if it comes down to bite the bullet on the resale of the car atleast you have an idea on what youll get.

I guess the way I look at this is that the price is decent enough that even if I lost my job in a year and had to sell the GT500 I would probably not lose much if any money on the car.

Good idea on the carmax thanks. I will have it appraised if I end up brokering a deal on the shelby. I can also have a local car dealer give me a bid. This should give me a worst case scenario type of idea on how much my 06 GT is worth. I checked craigslist in my area and most GTs are going for $17,500 at the least. And that is with more miles than mine.

If someone else takes this car then it's not a huge issue. I like my GT and I'm not gonna be heart broken if I keep it. Maybe in a year I can find another good deal like this and buy then. And at that point the current car will be paid for and I can maybe even keep it and have two mustangs.

You should pay off your GT and take the money you would be spending on a payment and Mod your GT and make it faster than a GT500. :-)

absoultely...unless of course the gt500 is built as well.....its an infinite conundrum on a quest for whose car is faster than whose....sort of like my grandpa can beat up your grandpa...

My local CHEVY dealership has a red with white stripes 08 GT500 loaded with Navigation and black leather. It only has 400 miles on it and a few weeks ago they wanted $41K. If I didn't still owe 17k on mine, and had no desire to remain married , i'd be all over it....

I've seen a couple others around with around 1000-2000 miles on them at dealers for 36,900. 08 GT500s.

Expensive cars (for me) but if I could really get 10K out of my current car after the loan payoff it still might be worth it to buy one. They will have to come down to 35,000 for me though. Not sure if I can get a dealer to dump almost 2 grand off the price. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask though. So we'll see if this one falls through there may be more out there.

in a year you will find a better deal since cars depreciate every year.if you could wait than it will be even better.

I may not have a choice. I made a few phone calls this morning and from what I can tell so far the dealers are not budging an inch on their prices. There was one for 36,900 in UT and he sold it for what he listed it at to someone else. I called on another one in IL for 36,500 and was told he won't budge on the price at all.

Even if I sold my GT for what I want that means the cost of the loan is going to be around 27 which is over what I want to be into it for.
