Alternator

Its what you get back when you send them your bad alternator.
Its just been 'rebuilt'. By whom, god only knows.
Go new and you will never look back.
Cheap at the start means headaches sooner or later.
A 2007 with a bad alternator ALREADY??????
Investigate why it WENT OUT in the first place before
you burn up a new one like the old one did.

Just as a bit of a follow up, I took my Alternator in at about 2:00 on Monday afternoon, left to run a couple errands, got a call back at about 3:15 saying it was done, and the total was $56.42. I'd say it's worth the less than two hours including drive time to save that kinda coin.
While I was at the shop dropping my part off, there was a guy that brought in a unit off a 1928 something or other, and the shop guy was totally convinced it was a doable unit, though they'd have to do all the windings by hand. I have no problems trusting that these kinds of shops use quality parts with knowledgeable staff, and that you'll get a part as good, or better, than new.
