Default Paint Problems....what do i do?

So I got my front bumper repaint about 2 months ago, and they guys said they paint urethane all the time and they know what to do, and i even explained they have to clean it properly with grease remover to get the oils off from the mold. But now the paint is LIFTING in some corners and it has flaked off and im pretty pissed. It looks like ****, are they responsible for this? can i get them to repaint it or am i **** outa luck?

after 2 months they should still fix it. I had my hood repainted after just about the same time. I had some runs in the clear and some primer showing.

Yep, bad prep. I'm not surprised either.
Cervini's urethane material is a motherfugger to prep and it's pitted...

They have to redo it, but how many tries will it take?

Yes they should be held responsible for the poor paint/prep quality, and really, the only real way to correctly redo the job is to completely strip the bumper back down to urethane, and prime/sand/paint it... I've had to deal with raw plastic bumper repaints that were prepped wrong by another body shop, and they're never a pretty sight. Good luck with it!

Our method for prepping a raw plastic bumper is to wash it, dry it, prep it with a plastic prep cleaner twice to remove all oils from the mold, use a regular prep cleaner, blow it off, spray a plastics adhesion promoter, seal, paint, clear... If done right, that should be it, and the customer won't have any issues. One thing we found out in our area, most shops are skipping out on the plastics adhesion promoter to save that little bit of money, as well as not putting in the flex additive which should be used in the sealer and clear coat.
