In newer GM cars the trunk button is disabled at speed by the computer.

The Smart Junction Box in the Mustang apparently disables the RKE button at speed.

So is it possible to wire a trunk release button so as to send a pulse to the SJB that would allow the release to work when stopped yet disable the trunk release at speed?

Anyone found the magic wire to tap into?

There is no such magic wire or I would found it by now...
I have the whole S197s electrical system under my belt
and can pull connector #s out of my head at will...
Its almost scary how much info I have soaked up....

I was afraid of that! Guess I'll just keep using the RKE. Thanks for your reply.

I tried doing this today. Used the well-documented procedure at http://www.cherod.com/musstang/HowTo/TrunkRelease.htm BUT...my 09 doesn't seem to have a "small white wire with pink stripe". Had the kick panel off--none there. Went to trunk itself--no white with pink there. Is it possible Ford changed the wiring colors on the '09. I know...that sounds stupid...they didn't change much else...but I just can't find any white/pink wire. Don't even have the white/lilac one that some other trunk release instructions talk about. Any help greatly appreciated!!!!
