convertible in winter!!
Hey guys
I'm getting a mustang, but the one thats bought depends on this.
Either a GT with hard top
or V6 Convertible.
The decision is due to this, I'm going to be in Canada where its not teh warmest weather and lots of snow... How reliable is the convertible top in winter? Will it wear out quickly with teh salt and dirt or should it be alright for atleast 5 years.
I know its about 1000 to replace the convertible roof. Thats why trying to decide this first.
Anyond who has a mustang convertible for a long time your info is appreciated
Thanks

I just bought a gt vert from the chicago area. Because of the amount of miles it has and the fact that the stock crappy rims had winter tires on them, I can only assume it was driven in winter quite often. The top on mine is in perfect shape, and there are more than 75000 miles on her. I dont have any first hand knowledge as to how much it was driven in winter, so someone else might be able to enlighten you further.

I bought my convertible in April 2006 and drive it year round here in southeast Michigan. I was commuting over 100 miles a day in the winter of 2006-07, plus was teaching on the weekends and driving another 200 miles on the weekend as a result. I still have a lot of commuting miles and have had no problems with my convertible top.
As of right now I've had the car about 3.5 years and put 115,000 miles on it. You should be fine in Canada, eh
