L.E.D. Issues, Help! lol
I recently put the switchback led's on my 2005 mustang for the front turn signals. This is an awesome upgrade that turns heads, but like any of us, I needed more. So I also added chasing led's to my tinted taillights, talk about a head turner... lol. Well since I've done this, when I have my lights on, the white running lights are on and all 6 lights are on in the back like they are supposed to be. As soon as I signal left or right, then only the center taillight is on on that side and the white running light is off, and as soon as you signal the other direction, the same thing happens. So after signaling each way once or putting the hazard lights on, both white running lights are off and the outside most 4 taillight lights are off. I didn't have this problem with the running lights until I added the led taillights. Anybody have any clue what could be going on? I am kinda particular about my car (like everyone here) and it is kinda getting to me... lol. Thanks!
The solution is simple. Get rid of the chase LEDs and get a regular chase/sequential unit like Meter4it. lol I have the switchbacks with the Meter4it chase tail lights and they work fine but then again I'm running filament bulbs.
Did you install resistors for the switchbacks? If not, you'll need to do that.
Does the chase LEDs "chase" at all? Try removing the switchback bulbs temporarily and see if the chase LEDs work properly.

The chase leds work properly, they just don't all three stay on when I signal. Only the center lights stay on after signaling. I didn't install resistors on the switchbacks and I figured this would probably take care of it but also wanted to see what others thought too. I kinda think since there are resistors with the chase leds that adding the resistors to the switchbacks will take care of the problem.
The switchbacks look completely awesome in the black housing. The black housing helps seperate my stealth amber corner lights from the switch backs so when they are on (and working right) there is a distinct amber and white light. It is a real head turner that looks awesome day and night.

It has been a few months since I got them but I think I just ordered them off of ebay... haven't had a single issue with them except for the corner bulb ot sealing up around the housing... which seams to be a common problem anyways... I used a #7 O-Ring and it fixed the problem and haven't had a single issue (with the housing) since
I just ordered 3 ohm load equalizers (one for each side) to hopefully take care of the running light/turn signal issue... I should have them the first part of next week... until then I just have to deal with it

Since you haven't installed resistors it would be easy to reinstall your filament turn signal bulbs just to see if the chase LEDs work properly and stay on after signaling. That's what I would do first. If the chase LEDs work properly then you know it's the switchbacks that's causing the problem and the next step would be to try the resistors. Good luck to ya. Hope you get it working right.
I definitely trust him... his install and video is what made me get mine and I was going to send a message directly to him but he replied to my post before I even got a chance to message him about it... the advise is definitely appreciated... lol
