Default how long to wait after painting cam covers?

so I painted my cam covers yesterday, so the paint has been drying approx. 24 hours. Am I good to start driving or should I wait?

Thanks!

yeah, that stuff dries after a few hours. 24 hours is more than enough time.

okay, thanks. I ended up having a check engine light when I fired her up, so I didn't get to drive anyway

My painted cam covers took about a week to dry, the heat of the engine bay will cure the paint. You might smell the paint after the engine is warm, it's normal.

a week...holy crap!!! and in that week of wet paint, you never got any bugs, dirt, or anything else latched onto that paint.

I've never heard of a paint that takes a week to dry. I think even the bottles of engine paint recommend something like 10-15 minutes between applications and 24 hours to completely dry.

24 hrs is more what I figured too, 1 week seemed a bit excessive.
