I got mine at Autozone also, took me all of 5 minutes to change out, and they get dirty quick so regular maintainence on them is a good idea.

Is changing the cabin air filter necessary? My car has 27k miles on it and I haven't noticed any change in cabin air. lol

I have no allergies.

Mine is pretty filthy. I'm going to call around today and see if any of the other auto parts stores have them in stock. I can't believe the dealers don't have them. Does noone bring their mustang in for a 15k service? So stupid.

If it gets too bad it can inhibit your AC/Heat from flowing as powerful. I think... the more I think about this, the less unsure I am

Personally, I'd say no. I have 31k miles and haven't changed mine yet even though I've had a replacement on-hand for the last 20k miles. It's just not on my priority list since it's not a performance or visual issue. I've never heard of anyone's AC not working because their filter was blocked. I'll get around to it...

Don't get yourself in a tizzy about it.

Are you fooling ME? Going to the stealership for filters and such?
Any local parts store worth a grain of salt will have the cabin air filter.
I got mine from moss muscle and it was a micron aire with the detailed
vehicle specific instructions...
Check your cowl clips while you are in there....

I just take mine and blow it out with air line once a year,
if you live in an area with fall leaf drop its a good idea to
check the drain in the well area below filter because some
people have had problems with it plugging up and causing
water to come in thru lower vents during heavy rain.

Is the bottom of the well easily accessible? Or do you need a vacuum with a crevice tool to get to it? I've heard that that drain clogging is a contributor to the water leak issue.
