I dont roll my windows down for nothing but the cops that pull me over.
Otherwise they stay in the up position and my cabin is pretty dust free
after 3 years of use. So the filter is doing its job like it should.
It keeps the dust out of the ductwork.

I do notice less dust on my dash than my 2000 mustang.

Every year or so I dust off the top of the dash, but so far I haven't noticed any dust. The cloth looks clean after dusting. Maybe the cabin air filter actually works.

I wonder what horror would occur if I just took the filter out, AND DIDN'T PUT IT BACK IN!! Imagine all that FILTHY natural air that would get in my car! Oh my!

Yeah, my sentiments exactly. But I bought 2 filters about 8 months ago because they were cheap and I just got around to replacing my original one today after 31,000 miles. Yeah, it was pretty dirty but OUTSIDE AIR will do that. If anyone is really frantic about replacing theirs, we should kick their butts if they're not wearing a dust mask over their nose as they read this since they're breathing the same crap right now and don't give a rats azz.

Regardless, you can find them for under $10 and it takes a whole 5 minutes (if you're **** about it like me) to do; 6 minutes if you like to stare at the dirty and clean filters side-by-side.

That's about how mine looked after 31,000 miles.

where in the world is air "natural"??? Every inch has pollution.

All that black dust in the above photo would have been inhaled. I for one always recommend driving with the windows up and the fan on as much as possible.
