I thought I had seen a post, with pic's, of a guy who removed his but I can't locate it....not even sure if I'm remembering correctly. I've searched.....

I need to remove mine and want to know if there are any tips out there that will get the thing off. The tape is hard to access in order to apply any removal products. I don't want to screw the paint up if i can help it as I will be putting on a stock GT spoiler. (black).

Any advice or know where that post is?

8 lb test fishing line

unbolt the 2 bolts on the trunk-lid

use the fishing line to "saw" through the double sided tape. after you get through to 1 of the bolts, carefully pry up 1 edge, and then feed the line under so you can finish "sawing" through the center section between the bolts.


really easy to do. if you run into a hard section, use the hairdryer on the hottest setting. it will soften up the glue and make it slightly easier to do




when you are all done, get some Goo Gone. awesome stuff to remove the residue and left-over crap.
