I dug through my Workshop manuals for that little bulb.

The best I can find is the electrical diagram of the switch itself. it acknowledges there is a bulb in there.

cannot find any other mention of it though. looks like this is a whole switch replacement type thing.

Junkyard?

The problem is most dealers when trying to buy a part is they don't read everything that's there in front of them. I will find out tomorrow if there is a bulb you can buy or not.

Thanks for the info. From what I can tell looking at the electrical diagram for the '07, there is only one bulb to illuminate everything except the fog lamp indicator, which is illuminated by an LED.

Charlie, my Mustang is a 2006, GT.

Yeah I was thinking of calling up another Ford Dealership. Perhaps the guy I dealt with didn't read his diagram correctly or something. It's strange though, because the bulb or socket doesn't have a part number or anything.

Alright, here's the latest news on the elusive headlight switch bulb. I stopped in Radioshack tonight on the way home and purchased the twin pack of the 272-1092 lamps. These are actually micro bulbs, almost half the size of the original bulb contained in the switch. However, they WILL fit (once the original bulb is removed from the holder) and the leads are plenty long enough to reach the bottom of the holder and wrap twice around the lip which makes contact with the metal contacts which are part of the switch. The "jury rigged" replacement does function, BUT, the original bulb's brightness level is higher. For now, however, until I can locate a better replacement, this will work. The industry number of this replacement lamp is 7219. As I said, these will work in a pinch, although the light output is lower.

Very nice find Jerry. If you come up with any better options or improvements, by all means post. I will definately be swinging by Radio Shack for this quick fix.
