Automatic or Manual?
A local Credit Union will also finance a used car. Check rates online.
If you want a stick, you want a stick. Its more emotional than practical. For me, I love a convertible with a stick. Does it always make sense? No. But its what I enjoy. For you, the issues might be different...

If a bank isn't going to trust you, why would a seller? Are you implying that you can't get a used car loan ANYWHERE?
No, I'm not implying that. The thing is that I'm only 18 and I don't have any credit. I just was asking to see if that could possible be another option to take. Any suggestions then?
Well stick is easy to learn, and if you want to drive your car and not have your car drive you, stick is the answer.
Getting someone to sell you a car on payments, would be a tough one, you would have to put up some collateral or the guy trust the heck out of you. Most likely won't happen, just go to a bank and get a loan. The rates are good now.

i am looking for an auto loan too, im 19 and own my car but i dont have any credit history so i cant get approved for any loans. I tried that capitalone.com application and was denied, does anyone know a good loan company for people with no credit history?
Matafy,
I've been driving a manual for the past 16 years. I learned how to drive a manual when I was 19. I learned in a couple of days. I practiced in the parking lot. Driving a manual is much more fun, if you are not in stop and go traffic. I have a 2005 Mustang 4.0 and the clutch is a bit stiffer than my 1999 mustang. In stop and go traffic in Downtown Atlanta, my leg and *** sometimes go numb!!! LOL
In reference to getting a loan with Capital One, check and see if one of your parents is willing be a co-signer on the loan. This may help!
What year Stang you looking for? V8? V6?
Good luck!

Well im 19 now about to be twenty, I was in the same situation as you last year when i first started looking i wanted a auto V6, eventually I ended up with a 05 Stick GT I have never been happier, I had never really driven a stick car before But i did know how to drive tractors so that helped, but ya i learned stick on my mustang. The a salesman i am friends with said he didnt know how to drive stick when he started working at the dealership and wanted to learn on a little escort but the boss told him to learn on the mustang because it was easiest.
In short go with the stick I did and it is awesoms

The best way to get approved by a bank when you are young and have no credit is to show them commitment. The way you do that to a bank is by putting down a substantial down payment, like 2500 or more. That tells a bank that you are serious about buying a car and that you will commit to it.
As far as manual or auto. I have always driven manuals. I learned to drive one by myself when I was 16. The only way to learn is to actually do it over and over. I stalled the car a few times but picked it up pretty quickly. It's like a bike, once you learn it, you never forget.
Even in traffic it does not other me at all, it's like second nature and more fun. Car feels quicker, exhaust sounds nicer and it feels like a sports car. Automatics are easy, yes but also boring.
