Default Belt Whistle/Whine? Help Please

My buddy and I put underdrive pulleys on my car about two weeks ago, and ever since, it sounds like the belt is whistling. It does it for about five miles, and then it stops. It happens everytime I start up. Do you guys have any idea what it might be?

I would say that the old belt on the different pulleys, it will very likely stop completely after it breaks in to the different pulleys. Some belt dressing might help or the old bar of soap trick. Just rub the belt in several spots with a bar of soap then crank the engine and let it run. Nearly always worked for belt noises. I am like you cannot stand noises! Good luck, and hope it helps.

What 7 UP Mustang said would be my guess, also. But I'd give it a little more time to see if it settles-in before putting anything on the belt. Sometimes the belt dressing can eventually make it worse.

Alright coo.. Thanks guys! My car is only a weekend car now, so I'm guessing it just hasn't had time to break in from what you guys have said
