You lost me. I thought Duck Tape was a brand, and duct tape was the generic term. Sometimes people use the phrase Duck tape even though they are not necessarily referring to the brand. Just as some people say Scotch tape, when they mean any brand of cellophane tape, not just the 3M brand.
