20's are that much more prone to damage due to less sidewall available to absorb those kinds of blows.
That's the problem with 20s indeed. Another reason for you to hate them budd, lol.
There isn't enough room to clear eventual impacts from the edge of the rim to the threaded face of the tire.
That's why I got 275s on my 8.5 rim up front. My tires are sticking out about 1/2 inch, that might have prevented that kind of damage...
