? about intake/tune
I'm in the process of buying an 06 and it doesn't have too much aftermarket stuff on it. It does have a CAI/tune, but I don't like how the intake looks, and I dont know where the tunes came from. Some might consider it a waste of money, but would it be ok to program it back to stock, remove the intake, install a new intake, and reprogram it with another tuner? I want the C&L racer/SCT tune from Breenspeed.
I suppose I can sell the intake and recoup some money, but can you sell hand tuners or would it be useless to anyone else?

the new tune should cost you about $50 and its just a file on your computer that you upload onto your tuner
i love the look of my C &L.

i do have an AMSOIL filter on it tho because i dont like the oiled ones

When I bought mine it had an intake and tune on it as well and it didn't feel right that it was somebody else's mods. So I bought a tuner and retuned it, then got a new intake that I liked. Now it feels more like its mine.
Its really up to you on what you want to do. It is possible to go back to all stock and do it to your own tee. Will just cost you a bit. The tuner should be reuseable if it came with the car, so you can just have Brenspeed or whichever vendor write a new tune for you.

I don't think you need to return to stock unless you have the handheld with the stock tune and the the stock airbox. Call Brenspeed and discuss it with them. I have no doubt they can take care of whatever the situation is.
When I bought my stang not too long ago, it came with a Steeda CAI and a tune (I don't know what kinda of tune tho). Im getting a tuner and a tune from Brenspeed but not for now since im trying to save up some money and I am really happy with the car runs now. I don't have a preference on what the tune looks like but Im curious to find out what the tune is. I just don't want to spend $400+ on a tuner and a tune and then realize that I already have a 91 octane performance/torque tune. Its one of those gables im willing to take lol. If you have the money than go for it. Good luck!!
