Correct, the '10 GT's use a tune similiar to the Bullitt and will pick up some minor gains as howarmat mentioned. A good aftermarket tune should tack another roughly 12-15 RWHP with the higher octane fuel over the stock tune with the same fuel.

But I think I don't fully understand... You were racing. But didn't go over 4k RPM... and didn't go over 55 MPH? I'm over 55 before I shift out of 2nd... How do you even have time to tell he was casually pulling on you?

I find more mpg's along with a little more pep, I can say this cause I have gone from stock CAI, to stock CAI W/ K&N dropin with a 87 tune, then going to a JLT CAI with another 87 tune, and differ, octanes will produce results even if small, just like everyone that dumps the stock drive shaft for a one piece shaft.

I've been running 91 for awhile and I can't tell the difference between that and 87.

dont run the 105....and you might not see any difference with the higher octane (91-93)....the gains are pretty small

i knew if we kept going he would continue to get further away from me, after just going to 55 he was already about half a carlength ahead of me.

sounds like i should bite the bullet and just start using 93 octane.

I don't think you could gain much without a tune going from 87 to 93. Time for a tune.
Was the "race" from a dig?

A mere octane change is not enough to put you past the 370z, however if you raced from a rolling kick down you would take him.. Our cars spin more tire then the z because v8 makes more low end torque. A rolling kick down when both cars already have traction is where the real winner shines..If you want to be certain, get a tune, a k/n drop in filter, a real axle back exhaust and a lightweight 1 piece drive shaft and you will be set...
