Check the cabin vents in the trunk right by the wheel wells for proper operation.....

I would suggest some dynamat or something similar.. I almost wanted to take the flowmaster 40's off of my car because it was soo loud, so I lined the entire cabin with d-amplifier. Its like dynamat but has a better adhesive. I also put some up into the sail pannels in the rear next to the rear window. Basically anywhere that had a big open pannel really helped out. I know we are 40 years difference in car ages but it might just help you out alot for a couple hundred bucks. It did for me.
