I need your help
Hello to everyone! Well here is the deal. I own a 2007 250z ( i know hate me ), and Ive recently decided to modify it. Which would cost me upwards of 8,000. Today I found out about the upcoming'11 stang. Now Ive always been in love with mustangs, but I knew that the overall quality and reliability was questionable (well at least everyone else told me that). I came close to purchasing an 07 gt but the interior was garbage. Handling was not so great either. So instead I picked up the Z. ( handles well on a track, looks good, and better quality)
What you fine people on this forum say could decide whether or not I purchase a mustang ( I don't want people who say it awesome just because its American made or just because they own one like the guys on the Z forums) I want Honest feedback:
Is the new mustang reliable/dependable?(I don't want constant trips to the dealer)
How is the degree of quality in the interior and exterior?
Can it handle?
I appreciate your time and feedback
Thank you

I've worked for Nissan over 8 years and the interior quality on the 350Z may appear better than an 07 GT but in all reality it is not. If you are worried about how the interior appears the '10+ Mustang appears nicer to me on the inside than the 350Z interior. If we're going to get into reliability issues being a Nissan owner myself, Ford really is coming back with the edge over Nissan in this area too. When was the last time you heard of Mustang's having overheating issues at the track in stock form? When was the last time you heard of Mustang's cooking their brakes in stock form at the track so bad that the car loses all brakes and smacks a wall with a Car and Driver test driver at the wheel?
According to magazine reviews the new track edition handles VERY well. It's longer wheel base and solid rear axle will actually make the car much easier to control for an amature driver around the road course. It won't be as twitchy at the limits and it will be easier to regain control when the rear steps out. The best thing to do, go out and sit in a 2010 Mustang GT and see what you think yourself.
Quality is no issue Nissan is dropping the ball there lately.

- Mine has been completely reliable (~6500 miles)
- The quality of this car impresses me more and more. Especially the interior of the '10+. Very nice materials, logical layout and functioning of controls, and excellent tactile feel of the switches/dials, etc.
- Mine does not have the Track Pack but I still think it handles very well. I do have AM springs/struts/shocks on the way however. A one inch drop and a bit less corner roll are what I am looking for.
You didn't specifically mention this, but I'll just throw in that although the Nissan 6's are among the best sounding V-6's, nothing sounds like a V8 and I personally think Ford's sound best!
Its pretty simple, you either love American muscle or not..the 2011 5.0 will provide mind blowing torque, and its costs a lot less for aftermarket upgrades for the Mustang then say a new 370z......yeah the imports have some impressive v-6s but there is nothing like a v-8. I just dug my 2010 Mustang gt out of the snow in my driveway today after 3 days, and it fired right up. Man i missed the sound of those boom-tubes... I've been driving my 06 Tacoma 4x4 everyday. Guess what we got 18 more inches coming tonight.....If you want rumble buy the v-8 Mustang, if you want to buzz around buy the v-6 370z..

In a mustang forum asking if we think are cars have issues? Don't ask, look. Browse though the forums and see what questions people are having. Alot of guys here are "do it yourselfers" and we ask questions on how to fix problems before we take it to a dealership. I've got nearly 8k on my 2010 and have had zero issues. of course, its still a new car if you ask me. Both the z cars and the mustangs are very nice and reliable. The mustang is cheap to mod in the direction you want to go so even though the z has a sportier feel stock, does that matter if you could make the mustang better for less overall money with more options? It comes down to which car YOU like driving more, even more so if this is a DD. There aren't lights in the mirrors of the GT premium though.. might be a sale breaker for you, if you were make-up at least.
Heres the thing guys. Ive actually been in and started up a '10 GT. Interior is superb. Ive always been in love with that all-American V8 rumble! I love the car, always have. Even when I bought the Z, whenever I came across a mustang on the road I always stared. But I have been unable to drive one. Here is my dilemma, my car is losing its value just like any other car. As she stands right now she is worth 18-20 grand. I could take that 8 grand I was going to use to modify her and invest in a '11 mustang gt. The only thing stopping me here is that the 5.0 engine that is coming out is brand new. I'm worried about bugs rearing their ugly heads.
B.T.W. Does anyone here know what Vaughn Gittin Jr's mustang was equipped with when he took it to japan? ( suspension wise)

1. Shaking at 60-85 mph (problematic tires)
2. Problems with the Microsoft sync system
3. Problems with the Shaker 500 audio system
4. Center console latch being hard to open
Take any 05 and up Mustang... lower it and add Konis (Adjustables) on all corners.
Also put a better sway bar up front and you'll be all over a 350Z in the handling department, despite the heavier weight of the Mustang.
Total cost for those improvements? About $1200.
