Default Midpipe help

so i need a little more info on midpipe help...first off will i fail an inspection with an offroad x pipe?? also, i didnt have much money but saw on brenspeed the pipes x pipe splice that uses my stock cats...any recommendations cause its only like 115.00. Is this only gonna improve sound and is it worth it? Also, for this one that splices in will i need anything else to go with it and do i need to tune or worry about anything like check engine light, ect....I have flowmaster axle back and everything else is stock, sounds ok but want it a little louder. Nothing ridiculous, just a lil more aggressive.

If your state has a visual, then yes you will fail with an O/R midpipe. From what other people have said, the splice in X is not any louder than the stock h and the tone doesn't change too much. If you want louder and emmision friendly replace you flows with SLP LM or boomtubes.

is there any header/x pipe combo that is emissions friendly great aggressive sound (not ridiculous)? I dont want to do this if it drastically changes mpg or is a cop magnet. I'm not gonna do more than basic mods. The flowmasters sound nice but mostly just really low rpms...if i step on it or just cruisin it sounds stock.
