Default S/C Gauges? HELP

I'm getting my Vortech V2 SC installed on monday. But right now I don't have any gauges for it. What do you guys think? Is this a really bad idea, how necessary are gauges? What should my priorities be if I do get them?

Thanks.

Thanks guys. I'll hopefully post pics Thursday once the install is done. That thread was helpful, but it didn't really answer WHY you need gauges. Can you run a s/c without them? Is it really risky?

Gauges can give you an indication of a problem and give you time to shut things down before totally destroying your engine and/or supercharger. You can certainly run a supercharger without gauges, I have for the past year.

Therefore, it is important that you understand the numbers that you are looking at so you can spot trouble.

you dont NEED gauges
but i think it is a wise investment to look after the performance of the SC and how it is functioning.
heres what my priorities with gauges are:
1. WB a/f
2. mechanical boost
3. electric fuel pressure

If I ever get my sc I'd like to at least have an a/f gauge, almost everyone seems to have a boost gauge with fi.
