I had tillman install my 4.10s friday. Thank god its been raining like crazy i dont think i would have been able to wait the break in time. The road was drying up so i wanted to push it a bit. Before i wouldnt get a chirp hitting 3rd even in the rain, well a damp road spins 3rd. That was a bitt of a pucker moment.

Using my own parts tillman instaled my 4.10s for 450. Not a hint of whine and all around great intall, quiter than my 3.55s

If you bring the parts to a shop they shouldnt charge more than 300-400 for labor. I charge 500 for everything (parts, labor and 1 yr labor warranty) for gears.

And about the break in, im not really sure if there is one. A lot of places say there are and a lot of places say there isnt a break in period. Only thing that would be breaking in is heat cycling the metal of the gears.

4.10s are a LOT of fun though. First gear is still good enough for me but I can start easily in 2nd if I want. If you drive hard, expect to need new tires its all fun though!

Heat cycling was what i ment for "break in". Its what they told me to do, there good now just ready for some dry weather. 450 was a little high but i saw on here 300-500 for install and they are a very well known shop so its worth the money to know its done right.

The 4.10s and the new tune made driving the car tough. The throttle is soo touchy and the 4.10s just wanna rip any bobble with the clutch will make me look like an idoit in a parking lot, but i got used to it now.

Yea I occasionally do the first-gear-shuffle. Accidentally blip the throttle in 1st making a turn or pulling out of a parking space and the sudden rocking motion makes me keep tapping the throttle once, twice, three times until I slam it into 2nd to calm the s*** down lol.

I love my 4.10s

You're gonna love them man! I have an auto as well and I will NEVER look back after installing 4.10's. 1st gear is still usable in the summer when the roads are hot and sticky... winter time... not so much. My local track is pretty sticky... I can stall it up as far as the stock converter can go and launch as hard as I possibly can and the thing will still look up. Sometimes I'll get a little chirp when I launch, but that's it. I'm running 285 wide summer street tires out back. I'll upload some videos in a few and post them.

I just had my FRPP 4.10 gears put in (prob w/ whine, working on that) however, I am still breaking them in, however, I do believe there great for a DD, there fun around town, I just wish I had a 6th gear when I'm doing 80mph.

Cant wait to hit the track w/ them...
