Default LT Header Install Question, HELP

Installing the Kooks LT's this weekend! Where is the best spot to lift the engine off the motor mounts? I'd like to do it somewhere other than the oil pan.

Also, any other tips to make this install easier is appreciated.

Thanks!

After this weekend, I'll be part of the FRPP HOT ROD CAM, KOOKS HEADER, BRENSPEED club!

I used a 2x4 on it's side up against the front bolts for the oil pan, not on the pan itself. The only issue is that it's not the most stable way to do it. It may work well if you can get a bottle jack that goes up high enough, I was using a regular hydraulic floor jack with wheels.

yeah, lift on the block in front of the oil pan; you'll still be on the oil pan lip, but do it carefully and use a block to sit on the front bolts of the oil pan. .actually, that puts the lifting pressure on the front cover and not entirely on the block, so better would be on the sides of the oil pan.
But whatever you do, by careful and safe with a solid and stable lift. Think about what would happen if the jack or support would fail, where would the engine fall, and would you possibly be injured. Safety first!!!

Default good tip zx stang

I remember when at 16 a pair of hooker super comps saved alot of hurt as they held up an old Mopar that was lifted WAY up improperly! Headers didnt bend when car fell, concrete had nice imprint in it. Learned safety real quick. Let us know how install goes as I too am aspiring to a pair of Kooks. Good Luck!!
