The GT 500 2011 is absolutely the better choice. That is why you pay $ 16,000 more than 5.0 and also has new aluminum 5.4l with new wire coating unproven technology. The choice is yours to make. I got the 5.0 with a potential upgrade to GT 500 for future. All you smart ones out there compare apple to apple before badmouthing the 5.0. Yes the GT 500 is better, that's why you pay over $ 16,000 more.

Thing is Boss 5.0 killed the 11 GT500 in a lap around Laguna Seca. Beat it by, i think 8 seconds... thats a lot, beat an R8 by 3 seconds... I bet a GT with a modest suspension upgrade would beat the 500 by a few seconds. Remember, the 500 is just stickers and emblems (thought the 11 has a better motor). Shelby has no hand, in its build. if you want a true Shelby get a 350...

I wouldn't call it just stickers and emblems haha. Don't forget the blower and 5.4L aluminum V8 that's rocking under the hood

In order to keep it "fair" let's apply the same modest upgrades to the other car. Then what happens?

This is just silly. Comparing modded to stock cars like that.

I think his point is that with cost in the picture, the 5.0 can be made into a better track star for less cash.

The 500 was never made for hard cornering guys.
But give me one of those and I'll rectify this and reset the clock.

Im just playin with u guys. But if you put 1500 into the suspension of the GT it will be a track killer. they are taking 6k off all 11 gt's where i live. 4k of the 12's, 2k off there 500's. and thats the advertised price, i bet u could get a 500 for 5k off msrp... I was actually eye balling a 12 500 svt red with white stripes....

TBH if cost was the big thing then people wouldn't buy a new performance car. They would buy used, and then mod.
