Question on wheel offset

Question on wheel offset
Hi all,
Just got my new 05 GT and like most of you I'm replacing the wheels. I'm about to order a staggered set
19x8 & 19x9.5. The front (19x8) offset is 40 which should be perfect, but the rear (19x9.5) has two offsets
to choose from and I'm getting conflicting info on what I need. The offsets are 35 & 45. Which one will ensure
that the wheels don't stick out past the fender? Also, with 19" wheels many people go with lower profile tires
(30's or 35's), I would rather go with 245/45's in front and 275/40's in the back. I've seen them on 18's, but
would the larger profile cause any problems at the 19" diameter? Does anyone have that setup on 19's?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm ready to order.
Thanks

RE: Question on wheel offset
I have a 45mm offset on my 18x9.5's with 285/40's and I think it looks just about perfect.
The tire sizes you mention are going to be just a bit taller than stock (by about an inch). The taller assembly should give better high-speed stability, but the cost is in accelleration and braking. Plus the overall height of the car will increase by about 1/2 an inch which may offset the stability gains. The speedo will also be slow by 2 or 3 mph at 60. Certainly, changes can be made to counter all of these effects, or a 275/35 and 245/40 combo will be nearly identical to stock height.
