But then you have to run anti-virus as the Mac HD would then be susceptible to viruses like a PC. Just be careful. I use my work computer for tunes.

I have a Brenspeed tune and I do not have any of your described problems. Mine starts right up, goes to 2000 and then backs off quickly to about 900 as it warms up. Idle is steady as a rock. I have UDP, so they set the idle up just a little. Ed

Windows can't see your Mac partition. It won't recognize the file system type on it. I run bootcamp on my iMac with no problems.

Another option is Virtualbox. I have that running on my Mac also. great for when you want to run the occasional Windows program w/o rebooting. It's free too.

I talked to the techs at the Apple store about this a few weeks ago. Its not that it can't see it, its that it is the same hard drive and if it gets infected with a virus, then the entire hard drive is ruined. At least that is what Apple said.

If the virus corrupts the partition table then that is possible but quite unlikely.

Try the Virtualbox app. It costs you nothing but a bit of time and bandwidth to download and install. You will need a copy of Windows to install however.

Thanks. I downloaded it earlier today. Now I just need a copy of Windows to install as much as I HATE to do that....

I dont experience # 1 or # 2 like you mention above but my start (#3) is somewhat like yours. My idle (#4) is usually around 600-650 but does get sporadic if my AC is on.

My car has been doing the hesitation on the start lately, not sure what the deal is. Seems to only do it when I start it for the first time in the day though.

I've been driving around with it for a few days now, and the same things continue to happen. I will be contacting AM tomorrow, and see what is going on.
