White Lightnings Whipple Dyno Session
#11
I believe this dyno method used a tailsniffer, and yes its a custom tune. At this particular dyno the operator told me on average they would see a 14% higher number over at a competitors dyno which is a dynojet. I'm not so much worried about the number, more about safety on my stock short block.
2 things are for sure. It's fast; and I can't wait to hit the track. Also just for my own comparison I may hit up the dynojet just to see for myself what the number would be...but again numbers are only compareable on the same dyno on the same day otherwise people like to get into a "junk" measuring contest.

10-15% would be a typical difference in power #'s between a mustang and a dynojet. that difference is significant and something to keep in mind when you're going for a safe tune. 500whp on a mustang would be pushing your luck a lot more on a stock block than 500whp on a dynojet since 500whp on a mustang would be more like 550-575whp on a dynojet.
like it's been said, ultimately the track is the best "junk" measurement tool once I get my new wheels and tires I'll make a trip up to the track and see how she does on 305 drag radials. until then the trip would be kinda a waste on my stock tires and with all the wheel hop. let us know how you do at the track!
