I am curious as to where you heard or saw this? Just wondering because there are many examples, me included, of the 4.6 having more power and better fuel efficiency after a tune. What would make the 5.0 any different?

 

There's more than just one type of tune, because the more aggressive(more power) it takes away from mpg to an extent. Not all tunes give more mpg

 

I thought the new 5.0's responded well to mods and gained pretty respectable numbers from a CAI/Tune

 

The Steeda CAI+Tune produced 59hp/59tq (93 octane) over stock (87 octane) at 5400 RPM

 

I stole this right off of Steeda's website cause I know they already have a system for the 2011 and I've always liked there products.


Combined with the required custom tune using an SCT X3 Flash programming device we have achieved dramatic power increases of up to 44hp and 52ft/lbs of torque! While these are peak numbers, the actual power increase is spread throughout the entire rpm range so your increased performance is available on demand in any gear at virtually any rpm!
