Default 2011 Super Charger

Got this in my e-mail today and thought you guys mite want to check it out.

Sean Hyland 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 Supercharger Kit

605 hp supercharger kit, with only 7psi of boost!

Our philosophy is to produce a highly efficient intake system, providing maximum airflow without restrictions, and using an appropriately sized supercharger, without the higher parasitic losses of oversize superchargers. Beginning with a low restriction cold air kit, feeding a 105mm big bore mass air meter, providing maximum airflow. We utilize the factory 80mm drive by wire throttle body for OEM durability . The 2.3 Eaton TVS supercharger is driven off the engine front drive, using our specially designed idler system, which provides maximum belt wrap on the large diameter supercharger drive pulley, for zero belt slippage. A highly efficient aluminum bar and plate intercooler, located below the supercharger, inside the intake and a dual pass aluminum heat exchanger cools the intake charge allowing maximum power with minimum boost. We provide a kit that includes an in house developed computer download with fully developed calibration.( CARB EO pending) All hardware, plumbing and components are supplied and the finished product has OEM fit and quality in every component. We are so confident in the quality of our supercharger package, that we offer a standard 3 year warranty on the entire system, with an optional 5 year warranty available.

How good is the new 2011 Mustang 5.0 engine?

It’s very good. Ford has done an outstanding job with the new 5.0 engine, which is a derivative of the modular engines. The 4 valve cylinder heads breathe extremely well, so adding some additional air via supercharging pays big dividends. The variable intake and exhaust camshaft timing gives a nice flat torque curve, excellent fuel economy, and reduced emissions.

The stock engine has forged PM rods, with HD 12 point rod bolts. The rods are beefier than the 4.6 3V rods, and were designed to operate at higher rpm’s.

The stock cast pistons have oil jets spraying cooling oil on the underside, providing better durability for extended high rpm engine speeds. The piston pin is a lightweight taper wall design, for minimum flex at high rpm.

The 5.0 arrives with a very high quality forged steel crankshaft standard, capable of supporting large power levels.

Electronics

One of the new features in the Mustang 5.0 engine, that allows us to extract big power, reliably, from the stock engine, is the advanced knock sensors. The standard 2011 Mustang 5.0 engine, will operate on 87 octane pump fuel, although it makes the best power using 91 octane premium pump fuel. Ford uses 15 different timing tables, and advanced torque management application to develop best power on any available fuel. These electronic engine controls, allowed us to develop our own custom computer calibration for our supercharger package, make best possible power and retain engine durability.

Hopefully these don't bring out some fatal flaw in the 5.0 before I have a chance to find a used one in a few years.

ProCharger is suppose to have kits ready for shipping by Aug 16. Havent heard specifics yet, but, the '11 kit is the same price as 05-10's.
A friend of mine is outsourced by ATI with the R&D to help get the kit developed. Since the car is the same as before, just the bracket work and small details is what will make it different from earlier versions.

So wait, basically you can get a brand new, 605 hp car for under ~$36,000?!? (base model) Wow. And that's only 7lbs of boost

605hp off 91octane **** gas hmm. Wonder how much more it could make with 93octane or E85. (Obviously E-85 would yield the most, but crap mileage)

I'm curious to see what kind of numbers these cars can do once people start really pushing them
