If you are willing to wait a while then the prices will come down substantially to a point where you can get your GT for the price of a new V6.

Would probably be better to wait until next summer and get a better deal on a slightly used one or a new one right before the 2012 come out.

Best thing I read in the two months that you posted this.

You took the words right out of my mouth (even though you said this over 2 months ago! LOL)

Now's a great time to learn to haggle. Don't worry about pissing them off (as if they don't deserve it) or appearing like a ********. Matter of fact, it's usually the bigger ********* that get the best deals. I have family and friends that refuse to go with me when I start haggling. They claim I'm embarassing. But I always walk out with a great deal. Nothing wrong with honing your skills right now.

Decide that you won't pay any more than invoice or whatever figure you want and stick to it. Period. You'll find a dealer that'll bite. And it may take time but it's so satisfying watching them come down off their high horse and cave.

I haven't dealt with the finance guy for the last 3 vehicles. I guess I missed that part of the fun.

Edit:
Too wierd, Jim. This posted BEFORE yours even though your post below was there first.

That actually sounds like fun! Of course, it is finance guy that you can really do this with; he is the bastard I would really like to see squirm because he is the asshat that tries to push those useless extended warranty plans on you.

I just went in asked for invoice minus rebates, ordered car a day later once it came just said no to all the things the finance guy offers, paint protection, extended warrant, all that stuff. No arguing no problems easy deal.

I hate that finance guy. All the ones I talked to always pushed it, I would have to tell them "NO" no less than three times.

The last finance guy I talked to pushed me a little to far. It was to the point that I said "Look, the only way I am going to take that S*** is if you give it to me for free. No way am I going to pay for and extended warranty!"
He quit pushing after that because I specifically told him that I was not going to pay for it.

For those who got it under invoice, was that including taxes and fees as well? Because I find that hard to believe that you guys paid just invoice. I ordered my 2011 GT Premium under invoice as well plus taxes from mayor moneybags which came out to $35,700.
