Default removing pins

I'm trying to remove a rocker panel on my '07. How do you remove those 8 pins? I have having a heck of a time trying to get those off. What is the trick?

I understand that they are trying to make things lighter, but using these pins instead of some kind of bolts just really seems stupid to me.

You have to pull hard on them.
Expect to mess up a few (strip the head right off)...
It's a stupid design that is not engineered for removal or re-install for that matter.

I just took them off. I ruined all but one! I had hit a curb several months ago and the rocker panel was all messed up, maybe a little loose even. There was some debris in there as well and would get a lot of noise at high speeds.

I used pliers for mine and don't even use them on the bottom anymore.

Oh, so you aren't even using those pins at all on the rocker panel? Any noise?
