Get whichever model strikes your fancy the most. Either if you want the 2010-2011, '05-'09, new edge or SN95, fox, a classic, etc. In the end they are all mustangs. The only reason I can see holding out is to get a 2014 "50th Anniversary" edition.

Well I mean I would be pretty pissed if I would have gotten a 2010 GT and then all of a sudden in 2011 the 5.0 comes out....I mean I'm fine getting a vehicle and realize that the cars are always going to get redesigned. I just wouldn't like to get a car and the next year it looks completely different cause if makes me feel like my car is hell of old. That's just me though. Like I said if it's like two years or three away then I'm fine with getting a car. I think by Jan '12 I'll be an owner of the mustang 5.0!

I may have been pissed if I bought a 2010 GT for near full price back when they first came out, then saw the 2011's -- but also, I know better than to expect things to remain the same always, so it wouldn't have upset me too much. This time around, I drove the 2011 5.0, then turned around and bought a leftover new 2010 GT for $10,000 less.

There is one thing that is for certain, any time you buy ANY car, and its the "coolest" and latest and greatest one... its fleeting my friend. It will only be that way for a year or two if you're lucky. It wouldn't surprise me in the least of the 2012 or 2013 GTs come with more power and cooler "stuff". Its the nature of the beast man. Buy when you are ready, enjoy what you have, and don't worry about having the shiniest "toy" because it won't last...

If the 05-09 s197 looks like a 68-69 mustang... and the 10-present s197 looks like a 70-71 mustang... does that mean that the new mustang will look like a mustang 2? ugh...

lol now that would be something... I hope they don't mess with the styling too much. The retro flair is what makes these cars work...

Just like the change from 04 to 05, here comes the next generation...
I believe the same thing here. And I bet an entire month's car payment that Ford right now is working on a new 'Stang body to replace our current D2C (D-class, 2-door coupe,) which was codenamed "S197" to help throw off corporate piracy/espionage. The anti-espionage codename "S197" stuck with us "Stang fans, so to this day, even 5 years into the D2C body, we still call the D2C "S197" just like how the 5.0 DOHC will forever be called by its own anti-espionage codename "Coyote"

What will the new body style be called? Be it in 2014 (50th anniversary) or any other year the D2C (S197) is replaced, I do not know what it will be called. Maybe E2C?
Moreover, what is it's anti-espionage codename? S198? Maybe T14? (T being the next letter after "s" adn "14" fro 2014?)
No one in Ford has even said what the codename for the new body is called yet, but when it does leak out, I know we will call the new body style by its codename instead of its official designation.
