dealer told me today that ford put the k-member brace on the mustangs manufactured after 03/26/07. is there any truth to that? so no 05 or 06 have the brace?

I believe that's true, just not sure when they started installing them. My 06 doesn't have one.

Mine was 2/07 and did not have. I also chose the CHE brace, it's awesome.

Those dates sound right. My 07 built in July 06 didn't have it.
My 07 developed the front end thunk noise, which was caused by the upper strut mounts.
Ford decided to add the brace to the coupes to relieve stress on the strut mounts. (so I was told by Ford)

I would really need an explanation on that theory
from Ford before believed that...

Yeah I hear ya. Ford engineer sent my dealer new upper strut mounts and thats what he said in his letter.
Dealer also replaced both struts cause they were both leaking.
THUNK was gone at that point.
Then I bought the CHE K brace. The THUNK really sucked.
Kinda interesting though, after everyone complained about the THUNK,
these braces appeared on the hard tops.
