Mine came stock with the Shaker 1000, and for a factory radio it is, in my opinion, a nice setup! All I've done to it so far was replace the deck with a Pioneer p4200DVD. Big improvment, especially in the bass department. I have the bass boost on 0 and the subwoofer level on -1, and it still rocks the car. Can turn up the bass or the speakers cant handle it and get the "blurp" sound..

Here are some pics of the amp in the car. It might be hard to see but there's probably 2 inches of space between the back of the amp and the carpet in most places. I also put a hinge on the front bracket so I can swing the back of the amp out to get at the controls better (I have it swung out in amp_rear2.gif).

I didn't actually mean that I wanted to quickly uninstall the amp, I was actually referring to the sub box :-)

I don't have any pics of the switch, but it's a lit-when-on rocker 12V switch installed in the center console, just to the rear of the cup holders and just forward of the storage compartment.

You have a good point regarding the relay. I'm sure someone will give me a hard time (one person in particular maybe ) about doing this, but...after experimenting and cursing quite a bit, I found out that a 12V relay would energize when given that 5V signal from the remote wire on the shaker, but it would NOT fully energize the 12V light in the switch or the amp. So...I use the 5V signal to switch the relay on, and then steal power from the power plug 12V wiring in the center console to send to the amplifier remote turn on. From what I have heard, the potential downside to doing it this way is that I am asking the circuitry in the shaker to work harder to kick on that relay. It's been this way for probably close to a year, it's always turned on, and there's been no smoke (yet). YMMV!

Here's the complete story regarding the whole signal wire debacle: https://mustangforums.com/forum/audi...ing-wrong.html

I had 2 pioneer 10s with the stock shaker with a line output converter, now I just have my pioneer 3100...

my only change was I ran the rest of the wires under where I mounted the amp. Thats a false floor that mirrors the factory floor with about 1/2" space, so I can run all the wires under it.
