Finally! Blower install...
Just keep this in mind. The shops do not have magic tools, and the person installing it for you, would have just as much experience the first time the shop charged $100 an hour to install.... Granted they have more experienced people on hand to ask for help, but you have us ;-) From my experience I will tell you, it is much more scary standing there looking at it, then it was to actually have it apart. So long as you can follow a manual and label what you remove, it becomes much less scary.
It might take you a while to complete, but some research, and that money invested in tools for yourself instead of labor to a shop, will give you a confindence under the hood, and lasting results that will continue to pay divedends the rest of your life.
When we were putting the PCM back in the new location with my KB you had to really push hard on one of the steel AC lines to get it out of the way for the lower connector to pop in. I wasn't real sure about it and to me it seemed like it was a bad idea to be pushing on those things that hard. But in the end, you are supposed to. Sometimes you're gonna have to risk breaking things to make it work. Odds are it will be fine. One of the things I've picked up over the last year is that sometimes you need to just pull, push, or twist the **** out of things on cars if you want to get the job done.
well I know on the GT, I had to remove my AC compressor a few times as well. If its is similar on the V6, you should know that those steel pipes have pleny of give to them, enough that you should be able to have someone hold it out of the way fro a few minutes while you make a hole. I know some of this stuff seems intimidating at times, but if you go to a shop with a failed install, that removes the possability of you installing it yourself and the price of install goes up. Your probably looking at around $1,000 to get it installed. (figure 10 hours of $100/hr for custom labor.)

The quote that shop gave u is close to what everyone is charging. i just had the saleen installed by brenspeed. I think normally its 650 for install but this month they had a special for 200 dollar installs. S+++ I couldnt pass that up. The one mechanic had it done in about 6 hours. Of course hes done many of these. Brenspeed also warranties there work so there is some relief there. I think there vortech installs are around 550. Anyway good luck with your install. I just wanted to post this so u didnt think u were getting ripped off by that shop.
