You are way too worried about this man. Drive a 1/2 tank out of it taking it easy without flooring it, then top it off with premium, and continue on with your life.

If you had 89 in the tank and your mom put 87 in the tank, unless you were running on fumes, there was still some 89 in the tank which would have mixed with the 87 and raised the octane level... Your probably fine to run it.

Just do like everyone has said, run a few gallons out of it and put some high-test in it to get the octane rating back up.
Still no. I had about 1/8 of a tank of 87, then my mom topped it off.

Ok, but 1 question. How do you drive without flooring it?! Aha just kidding.

I am taking it to a shop tomorrow and hopefully they can siphon it. I tried earlier today and once I got a whiff of gas I had to stop.

Do what you want man, but you're wasting your money paying someone to do that, and your time trying to do it yourself. The car isn't going to explode. You running 87 on an 89 tune is roughly equivalent of getting a tank of "bad gas" which can happen to any of us at any time. You really can't just drive it normally for 1/2 tank?

Stop...Take a Big Breath...and Relax.....everything will be just fine !!!
As stated, use-up 1/2 tank, then fill with 93.. Ok...now, breathe again !!!

I think the OP is taking over the #1 position of being **** and agonizing over nothing from Blacksmoke...

You're overreacting.

Ok, ok. I got it. I called around to a shop or 2 and they said they couldn't drain it? Whatever though. I'll baby it up to the gas station and get some 93. I do have a question though. If I top it off with 93, I probably still have to baby it, right? I have no problem babying it, but I thought I might ask anyways.

You are way overthinking this. Drive the stupid car around just dont floor it and put a huge load on the motor or it may detonate. Once its around a halftank fill it with 93 and you will be fine.

They make meds for this, ya' know...

If it makes you feel better to squeeze 1-2 gallons of 93 octane in, then do so but you'll still need a mix that gets you to 89 before driving "spiritedly". But it's not necessary unless you here significant pinging. Just drive easy and turn up the audio. If it still bothers you, I know where to buy TUMS for your stomach acid and Tylenol for the headache you're giving yourself.

The OP may be forced to put a higher than normal load on the engine if he has to climb any hills, or has to accelerate quickly either merging onto a highway/interstate or in an emergency. And the engine will probably detonate under those conditions.
Just pull 2 degrees out of the timing, and he's good to go. No messing around with 93 ga$, and no driving conservatively.
