$7k for a V6 with 40k miles and a salvaged title......

Sorry to be a party pooper, but for just a few (3 maybe) more grand you could have had one with the assurance of a decent title.

I don't know....I don't think I would have touched it. I hope it all works out for you.

...I don't know where you live, but an 07 with 40K could not be found anywhere near 10K in socal.

But, you know what? For $7k, I think you did well regardless of what minor issues might turn up. Nice find, I'm sure you'll get your money's worth out of it and then some!

It probably was replaced, the salvage title came from being hit in that corner. You can see from underneath it was hit there, but from what I can tell it seems to have been fixed well.

The car was probably totaled out to become a salvage title. The quarter would of been sliced off and a new one welded in place. It's extensive work. I have to agree, $7k is high for a salvage title but the deed has been done.

Enjoy the stang.

congratulations....looks good. If your happy enjoy the car....it looks great. What did the Car Fax say? Sometimes I seen cars with salvaged titles and the Car Fax stated minor/accident. The insurance company or something stupid would happen and they give it a salvaged title. Good luck

It was salvage due to the hit.
I was mostly concerned about frame damage tbh, but you can see from underneath where the work was done up to and it wasn't even anywhere near the wheel, so I figure I'm probably safe from that. It does drive straight too.

Here are my problems with it. The wheels/tires don't look like they fill up enough room, the muffler is hanging funny, the wierd aftermarket taillights, and something else. Can't put my finger on it, but something just seems out of place to me. I assume it is a base v6, btw? I got my 2006 v6 with the pony package, 32000 miles, almost flawless (albeit a bit swirled up) paint, spotless interior except for 3 or 4 scratch marks on the center console and 2 or 3 on the steering wheel, and some aftermarket trunk mat for 12.5K. No crashes, no repairs, no modifications except what appears to be an aftermarket floor mat, and definatly no salvage title. I just feel like a base v6 with a salvage title (obvious damage) should have been a little cheaper then 7K.

^^ the above are legitimate concerns, but...

1) The OP has already bought the car... so...

2) Yeah... yeah... there are stangs out there for 12.5k but to some people the difference of $5,500.00 is a LOT of money. But for 7k you get a *chance* on this mustang... or a crappy old Sentra. Apparently, to the OP, it was worth the chance. I hope it works out, and to be honest, it usually does.

3) It doesn't take long to get $7k worth out of a car. Heck, most of our cars depreciate 7k in the first year of ownership. So, if the OP can even get a good year and a half out of this thing... it's a decent deal.

Would I have bought it? Probably not. If my max budget was 7k? Maybe.

Enjoy the ride Op and good luck with it. My money is on you getting 3+ years out of it and then you can come back and tell everyone "I told you so" LOL
