NP. Wasn't aware of that. But I still suggest you get behind the wheels of both. You'll likely try to figure out how to manage the GT if $$ is the determining factor.

I drove both, 07+ GT and V6...Also called for insurance quotes on both...With the fuel savings and insurance savings (for me, 30 with a ticket, obviously different insurance for everybody) was like $27 per month...I got the GT...Either way, glad you're getting into some american muscle...

I've had my 06 for 1-1/2 years and have put on 40,000 miles. Body is rock solid. No rattles. No leaks.

Only electrical problems is that the radio locks up about once every 2 months. It fixes itself overnight.

Filling up the gas tank SUCKS if you let it get below 1/4 tank. At least with mine.

I drive it like I stole it. Been extremely reliable. I'd drive it coast to coast without hesitation.

Can get 26-27mpg on road trips at 75+mph... Got up to 29 babying it... Around town / work is 19-23mpg driving it like a pissed off teenager.

Here is a way to scam your insurance company from finding out that you just got a ticket. This worked for me like a charm for me on numerous occasions!!! Say that you get a ticket for a set amount. After you get convicted, send a money order for a higher amount. The court won't accept your money and send you a notice that you paid to much, thus sending your money order back to you. The turn around time for this is about 3 months. Keep pulling this stunt cause they cant do anything about it and they wont know that you're doing it. In my jurisdiction, traffic tickets stick on your record for three years. so keep pulling the stunt till you have passed three years from your conviction date. Then pay the ticket, by that time, the ticket can't be used against you because three years have passed. Its a back door solution that worked perfectly for me. I hope this is not too confusing.

One thing to remember.....there will be good and bad cars in all years. Overall, the later years are better especially when buying used and no knowledge of the previous owners treatment. V6 vs GT.....drive them and see which you like and talk with the ins. to see where you stand. Just shop with care and enjoy what you buy.
