I have the Pioneer 4200bt. Love it, and install was quite easy.

 

It looks like, by the time I get BT and Nav on a 4200, I'm looking at $700+, and that is without the install stuff. I'm going to look back at the features on the Kenwood systems and see if it might be a better deal.

I really can't figure out the differences between the 7160 and the 9960. I found this http://www.kenwoodforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=587, but none of this stuff makes sense to me, can someone help me out here?

 

Didn´t look at the official specs to compare yet, but from the thread listed, higher pre-amp voltage, built-in equalizer, 2yr warranty, 2 usb connections, 2 audio/video inputs from the 7160, and voice controls. Probably better/faster controller.

 

Yeah I saw all that, but as far as performance, that is all Japanese to me.

 

A few questions before I make a purchase here. Is there any reason why the Pioneer 4200DVD would be a better unit than the Kenwood DNX7160 (price aside)?

Also, what is the difference between the Kenwood DNX7160 and the Kenwood DNX7140? The 7140 costs a bit more, and I can't figure out if it is just an older model or if it's just different.

 

Now I'm finding a lot of negative reviews on the 7160, but the nav on the 4200 isn't good apparently. I don't know what the right choice is at this point.
