Missing spring clips on front brake pads help

I had a clip already broken off when I got mine and another broke off when I was putting them on. Not all that impressed with them, going a different route next time

So they seem to break off on both Hawk and EBC brands. Now I am not sure if I should just keep the Hawks or try to EBC's. Bastardz.....
