Default Issues after fixing Alternator

Hi,

Since i was not able to get the PA Performance here in Mexico and Motorcraft costs 600dlls, i decided take it to fix mines so in the meantime I can get a new alternator.

The diode plate was damaged so they replaced it, then installed back the alternator and the car started up normally but then after driving one block the car shuts down...

I have a SCT Tune with CAI C&L, I reloaded the tune with same issues, then if I revīd up it will stay on but when driving it and making change from 1st gear to 2nd gear it will stop. I cleaned the MAS and the Throttle body with Battery disconnected for 30min but RPMs were incorrect and car stalls.

I decided to put back the stock tune and stock Filter, the car didnt shut down but the revs were moving frmo 0RPMs to 500PMS, I disconnected the battery 30 mins and cleaned again MAS and Throttle body now it seems is ok.

Questions:

1.- When replacing an alternator should i reinstall the tune to my car ?

2.- Why the car acted like that after replacing the plate diode.

3.- Should i get a new tune from Brenspeed(The strategy didnt change)

Thanks

I'm not convinced that it was your tune. I suspect that the shop disconnected your battery to work on the alternator (as they should have) and it reset your Adaptive Learning (which is expected). Often after that, you can have idle issues until you put a few miles on the car for the Adaptive Learning to collect enough data to even things out, but I don't recall hearing anyone said it caused them to stall.

If all is fine with the stock tune and airbox for a few days, reinstall your CAI & tune and keep your fingers crossed.

Yep they disconnected the batter and then uninstalled the alternator. Im running now stock and will wait a few days because being stuck was causing low RPMs too but then it was kinda ok im still monitoring.

I will see if after somedays i can reinstall the tune and CAI Back!

Thanks!!!
