I see the line which says under the windshield section:


3.Sunscreening devices, when measured in combination with the original glass, must have a light transmittance value of 25% or more.

When we had our inspection today the guy (a gas station worker who does the inspections) said we can't have any tint at all on the windshield.

A guy who works at the tint place said we can have a tint above the AS-1 line but our tint looked fine. The cops can't measure the windshield since the devices have to slip over the window - was another comment.

Well this is confusing. We don't know if the tint on the windshield complies with the law.

 

The AS-1 line on the windshield counts in Texas....when I had my pick-up blacked out the tinter said I would get into trouble if I was pulled over. He said he would tint the windshield, but would not give me a receipt or warranty on the windshield tint.

I got pulled over few times and the cops never said a word about the tinted windshield.

 

i have 20% on the fronts and 5% on the rear. a while back i got pulled over by a state trooper (not for tint), he had me roll up my window and determined that the tint was fine. had no problem with the tint passing inspection also.
